Unspecified number of undergraduates kidnapped

Some assailants, suspected to be bandits, have abducted some undergraduates of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Kogi.

An eyewitness reportedly said that the assailants abducted the students at about 9 p.m. while they were reading.

“They trapped the students inside the halls and started taking them,” the eyewitness stated. He added that the incident caused a pandemonium in the school.

“By the time local security guards and the conventional security men at the gate engaged the bandits, they had already succeeded in abducting some student,” the eyewitness added.

The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulraman Asipita, declined to comment for the story.

“I don’t talk to journalists on incidents like this, but I want you to know that we are on top of the situation,” he said, according to Blueprint.
