Lagos Police rescue two from lynch mob

The Lagos State Police Command says it rescued two men from being lynched by a mob.
The yet-to-be identified suspects are being accused of stealing generator cables in the Yaba area of the metropolis.

Ben Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, said the mob beat the suspects mercilessly and warned citizens against jungle justice.

“These two were caught in the act of stealing generator cables somewhere in Yaba and were beaten black and blue by an angry mob.
“The police rescued them from lynching. Investigation has commenced,” he said.
Incidences of citizens meting out jungle justice on suspects are becoming rampart.

In a recent gory video obtained by TheCornet, a man could be seen being set alight.

According to an unseen person speaking in the background of the video, a mob had apprehended three suspects hiding in a manhole around Aswani area of the Lagos metropolis.

The suspects were allegedly caught with large sums of money.

While the police reportedly took away two of the suspects, the third who large emerged from the manhole was pounced upon by the mob, who also set him ablaze.

This medium couldn’t ascertain the circumstances or location of the unstamped video.
