Two Lagos magistrates sacked for corruption

Two Lagos magistrates, namely Magistrates Oluwatoyin Gwendolyn Oghre and Humenu Olajuwon Amos, have been sacked for their involvement in corrupt practices.

Their sacking took “effect from Tuesday, 11th October, 2022 and Wednesday, 12th October, 2022, respectfully”.

Mrs. Olubukola Salami, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos state judiciary commission, announced the sacking of the two affected judicial officers.

Salami said the judicial officers were sacked after their investigation for committing gross misconduct. According to her, judicial officers must be

above board and should be ready to demonstrate and discharge their duties accordingly.

Salami also warned members of the public to desist from dealing with the affected persons.

The two sacked judicial officers are said to be serial offenders.

The judicial commission said the decision to lay them off was to protect the integrity of the Judiciary.
