The police in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria, says it has arrested four internet fraudsters. Among the suspects are two women, namely Messiah Nicky and Yetunde Sonola. The others are Agbe Simeon and Oladapo Dolapo, both males.

Police operatives from Owode Egba Divisional headquarters apprehended the suspects for kidnapping one Haruna Usman. The suspects and the victim belong to a internet fraud syndicate.

Abímbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the Ogun Police Command, said that the suspects abducted Usman for failing to hand over the sum of N26,437, 950, being proceeds of fraud. Usman only gave the suspects, N2,200, the police said.

Angered by Usman’s betrayal, the suspects lured him to a herbalist and detained him there. They threatened to kill him until he released the money to them.

Acting on the information, the police stormed the hideout and arrested the suspects but two escaped.
