Tinubu’s wife speaks on accusation by Peter Obi’s supporter

Nigeria’s first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has denied ordering the Aso Rock Chapel closed, in order to prevent political opponents of President Bola Tinubu from worshipping in the church.

A twitter user, @VeronicaaNaomi, had made the claim but failed to provide the evidence of her allegation. The user is a supporter of former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi and she claims to be a lawyer and graduate of the London Metropolitan University.

But speaking on the allegation, Oluremi, through through her special adviser on media, Busola Kukoyi, said that the claim was false and a fabricated one.

She said, “Our attention has been drawn to a story making the rounds on social media about the purported closure of the AsoRock Chapel by the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen Olurermi Tinubu OON, CON.

“We wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and totally false representation of the true situation, as the First Lady at no time gave such directive that the Chapel be shut and the keys handed over to Her Excellency. Presently there are weekly fellowships going on at the Chapel.

“However, Mr President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain, as he only reserves the right to appoint a Chaplain for the Chapel.”

Following, @veronicanaomi returned to Twitter to dispute the first lady’s claim but, again, failed to provide an evidence of her allegation. Instead, she tweeted: “Liar, Liar, pants on fire! Your time is up …where you are now is not your own …You and your husband stole it and both of you must return it to the rightful owner HE Peter Obi… TinubuMustbeDisqualified.”
