Tinubu unveils running mate Senator Shettima

Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima. The event, which had party bigwigs in attendance, took place at the Shehu Musa Yar’Ardua Centre, Abuja.

Some Nigerians, including senior members of the APC, have rejected APC’s decision to run a same faith ticket. Christian groups, notably the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), have equally protested the ticket.

The party’s standard-bearer, Tinubu, is a Muslim like his running mate. It is believed that the political exigency, particularly getting massive votes from the country’s predominantly northern region, is the underlying factor for the party’s decision.
