Tinubu speaks at Chattam House

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would be speaking at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, also known as Chatham House in London today.

Tinubu had skipped a town hall debate for presidential candidates, organised by a coalition of media and civil society groups and spearheaded by Arise TV on Sunday.Ā  Tinubuā€™s presidential campaign organisation had said Arise TV failed to consult with it before advertising him as a participant. On his Chattam House engagement, the campaign council said that Tinubu would speak on security, economy and foreign policy.

In 2011, Tinubu spoke at Chatham House on the rebirth of the opposition in Nigerian politics. The session was titled: ā€œDemocracy and the rebirth of the opposition in Nigeriaā€.

Tinubu will discuss ā€œhis vision and recently unveiled a manifesto for ā€˜renewing hopeā€™ in Nigeria including his policy proposals for economic reform and revival and how to deliver secure and inclusive job opportunities for Nigerian citizens.ā€

The Tinubuā€™s Chattam House speaking appointment re-enact similar engagement by candidate Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, before his emergence as Nigeriaā€™s president.
