Katsina, President Muhammadu Buhariâ€™s home state, witnessed another large-scale abduction on Friday.
Motorcycle-riding armed terrorists are reported to kidnapped no fewer than 46 persons in a gun attack on communities in Batsari, and Funtua local government areas of the state recently. In Batsari, the assailants killed one person and seized 28 people.
Among the abducted are students of the Government Day Secondary School, Karare.
The kidnappers allegedly released three children and one adult identified as Malam Ladan. They were said to have told the villagers they would not accept old naira notes as ransom payment.
In Funtua, some terrorists shot an Imam and killed several others when they stormed a mosque in Maigamji village along Funtua â€“ Dandume Road. Abut 13 persons were kidnapped.
