Police reveal abduction of Lagos secondary school student

Lagos police command has said that two suspects, a male and a female, were arrested for luring a secondary school student into their vehicle, with the intention to abduct the victim.

In his account, Benjamin Hudeyin, who speaks for the command, said that law enforcement attached to the Ikotun Police Division had received information from community members about the presence of strange people moving around their neighborhood suspiciously.

“The police moved in discreetly, quickly enough to rescue a female secondary school student they had tricked into their car and abducted,” said the assistant superintendent of police Hudeyin.

“The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, have been arrested and their tinted Toyota Camry impounded.

“They are to be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation,” he added.

In a separate development, two men namely Praise Ebube and Ogbonna Michael, have been apprehended by the police after they snatched a woman’s handbag and her mobile phone.

Following, witnesses placed a distress call to the Lagos State-funded anti-crime patrol, the Rapid Response Squad.

The squad swooped on the suspects and recovered the stolen items.

The police said a separate victim “identified one of the suspects, Praise Ebube, as the one who had robbed him of a Vivo mobile phone worth N105,000,00 at knifepoint, at about 10pm in the same area.

The police said the suspects would be arraigned in court for the alleged offences.
