Kanye West rakes in ‘over $1.3 million’ in album sales
Kanye West (now known as Ye) announced he has raked in over $1.3 million in sales of his latest album, Donda 2. This is coming few days after the rapper informed fans the album release would be exclusive to his content-streaming platform, Stem player.
West, in his Instagram post last Thursday said popular content-sharing apps, like Apple, Amazon, Spotify, and YouTube were a rip-off to artistes.
“Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own. Go to stemplayer.com now to order,” he said.
Aside his music, Ye has hogged headlines over his broadsides against estranged wife, Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend, funnyman and actor Pete Davidson.
