Sallah: 5 adults, 2 children involved in car accident

Seven persons suspected to be a family were involved in an accident at the Otedola axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency officials said the Lexus RX 350 vehicle the family, comprising five adults and two children, was travelling on rammed into a stationary truck on the highway.

Babatunde Farinloye, the sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, (Lagos State), attributed the crash to over speeding by the car driver.

He said, “The stationary vehicle developed a mechanical fault. The car that was coming rammed into the vehicle from the rear. It was a case of speeding and impatience.

“Seven people were involved. Five adults and two children, only the driver was injured, no death, but the vehicle was badly damaged. We sent an ambulance there and they were able to get the victim to the hospital.”
