Rapist sets victim ablaze to protect self

A man has been accused of raping a woman and setting her afire, in his bid to conceal his crime.

The incident, which happened in India, had Shakoor Khan raping the 44-year-old victim.

Following the incident, the victim was admitted to a hospital and later discharged.Â

But her discharge got Khan feeling unsafe as he could be exposed for his crime.Â

Khan then decided to finish his victim off by attacking her a second time.Â

This time, he doused her in a chemical substance and set a fire to it. But the victim survived the attack.Â

The Indian police said the unnamed woman suffered 50 per cent burns while Khan was taking into custody.Â
