Police declare 12 Anambra men wanted for murder, armed robbery

The Nigeria Police have declared 12 persons from Isu-Aniocha, in Anambra state, wanted for conspiracy, murder, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearms, among others.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force headquarters, stated this in a statement he issued on Friday.
According to Adejobi, one of the wanted men, Edward Okoye (aka Stone) led others to storm a burial ceremony held on 19th January, 2019. They were said to have shot dead one Ifeanyi Anazoba (aka Ichafu) and Chukwuebuka Amodo (aka Mutum), after which they beheaded them and burnt their bodies beyond recognition.
Adejobi said the alleged murderers also “kidnapped two others, and vandalized two properties, valued at over 1.2 billion Naira.”

The police statement says the men are also wanted for committing “act of terrorism, kidnapping, cultism and unlawful possession of firearms, house breaking, burglary, malicious damage, and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.”
They are Edward Okoye (aka Stone), Donatus Okeke, Onyemazi Ngini, Onyebuchi Nwekeizu Okoye, Nonso Eboh, and Chukwuka Onyibor. Others are Chukwujekwu Anaekeokwu, Chuka Ilodigwe, Chinedu Nwoye Okoye, Nonso Awusionwu Obinna, Cosmos Okonkwo, and Chukwujekwu Okoye. The ages of the suspect, according to the police, range from 25 years to 55 years old.
The Nigeria Police Force says it is urging “all well-meaning members of the general public to assist the police with useful information which would facilitate their arrest and ensure they are brought to justice”.
“It further assures that justice would not just be done in the matter, but would be seen by all parties in the matter, to have been done as the police will leave no stone unturned in unravelling the ugly and criminal incident.”
