PDP: Why Wike is after me – Dagogo

Farah Dagogo, a member of the house of representatives and governorship aspirant in Rivers state has faulted Governor Nyesome Wike’s action against him.

The governor, in a statement by his media aide Kelvin Ebiri, declared Dagogo ‘wanted and called on the police to arrest him.

He accused Dagogo of leading cultists to disrupt the Peoples Democratic Party screening exercise for aspirant contesting elective offices in next year’s general election.

“The police must, as a matter of urgency, arrest Farah Dagogo, wherever he is, and must be made to face prosecution,” the governor said.

Dagogo, through his media aide Ibrahim Lawal, condemns the directive and he alleged it is a ploy to stop him from being screened as an aspirant.

Dagogo said the directive “violates the spirit of Section 14 and 33 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As amended).”

There has been no love lost between the governor, who is gunning for the presidency, and Dagogo who supports another presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar.

Dagogo currently represents Bonny-Degema Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He has said his aim for the governorship would end godfather politics.
