Police on alert as MC Oluomo’s loyalists confront rival group

The Lagos Police Command said its officers have been stationed at Meiran–Ijaiye axis and Ekoro road, in the Abule-Egba area of the metropolis.

TheCornet gathered that loyalists of the chairman, Lagos Park Management, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) had gone to the area to confront their rivals, led by Abiola Azeez (aka Istijaba).

The two transport union leaders have disagreed over who should collect park toll from commercial tricycle (Keke Napep) operators in Lagos.

Gunshots were allegedly fired the belligerents, causing panic among residents and road users in the area.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the command, said police officers have been deployed to the area to restore calm.

“Men of nearby divisions and the RRS are fully on the ground, and the areas are absolutely calm.”
