Report Buhari sacked me fake news – Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, has dismissed a report that he has been sacked from the post.

An online news publication had claimed President Muhammadu Buhari sacked the junior Labour and Productivity minister for ‘de-marketing’ the administration while defending the party’s presidential candidate Bola Tinubu and his equally Muslim running mate Kashim Shettima.

The news medium said Buhari removed  Keyamo as the campaign spokesperson after he (Buhari) “accused him of always de-marketing his regime, describing the government in which he is a minister as a failed regime …the cabal members are not happy,” the online claimed, citing a presidency source for its story.

Responding to the claim, Keyamo called it a “very funny fake news.”

According to him, “When people feel uncomfortable with your uncompromising defence of your mandate, they promote such fake news to achieve a purpose.

“The opposition think they can plant stories to destabilise our ranks. This is the height of the panic mode they find themselves,” he said in his tweet on Monday.
