Gunmen behead Anambra lawmaker, flee with his body

Unknown gunmen have beheaded Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, an ally of Governor Charles Soludo and the lawmaker representing his constituency in the state assembly.

The assailants decided to hang his head at Nnobi in Idemili South local government area but took away his body.

The lawmaker was kidnapped last week with one person in his Toyota Sienna car.

Anambra Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed that the lawmaker has been killed.

He said: “His head was found along Nnobi road today (Saturday). There is no suspect in custody yet.”
