Nigerian Army declares professor, seven others wanted for soldiers’ murder in Delta

The Nigerian Army has declared eight people wanted for their involvement in the killing of four officers and 13 soldiers of the Nigerian Army in Okuama, Delta State.

The suspects are Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriki, Igoli Ebi (female), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, and Reuben Baru.

The soldiers, who were said to be a pace mission to the community, were grisly murdered by yet to be known assailants.

At the funeral of the soldiers on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu conferred posthumous national honours on them.

He also promised their bereaved families shelter and scholarships to their offsprings up to university level. The President equally directed that all entitlements due to the soldiers should be paid to their families within 90 days.

The President had, in a previous statement, revealed that he had given the military the “full authority” to fish out the soldiers’ killers.
