Keep off Wike, ex-militants warn Islamic cleric Gumi

Some Niger Deltans, who were formerly militants, have chastised northern Islamic cleric Sheik Ahmad Gumi after he criticised Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.

Gumi, in a video, accused Wike of fraternising with Israel and planning to make Abuja an annex of Tel Aviv.

In their response, the ex-militants under the Movement for the Sustainable Development of the Niger Delta (MSDND) allege that Gumi is clandestinely representing corrupt individuals who plunged FCT into its abysmal state.

Ayibatekena Olodin, coordinator of the group, said Gumi’s utterance is “disheartening”, a “hate speech, and divisive rhetoric.”

He also accused Gumi of “seeking to use religion to sow seeds of discord among Nigerians.”
