Lagos civil servants pray for political leaders

Civil servants in Lagos reportedly prayed for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other political leaders in the state at the interdenominational thanksgiving, held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa. The worship is part of the activities marking the state’s annual Civil Service Week.

A government statement released on Sunday said that Governor Sanwo-Olu, through his representative –the chief of staff Tayo Ayinde– urged the workers to be more effective in discharging their duties.

The governor, as the release said, commended the workers’ contributions and, on his part, promised better welfare to them.

Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the state’s head of service, urged the workers to be selfless, assuring them of government’s willingness to deliver dividends of democracy.

Prof. Samuel Daramola, the officiating cleric, advised civil servants to be upright and godly.
