Kidnappers den busted, rifles recovered

The Nigerian Army, 8 Division, has said that a raid of kidnappers hideout in Kebbi State led to the recovery of some AK 47 rifles and several ammunition. The army also said that they rescued four kidnapped victims from the camp and killed one of the kidnappers.

The military carried out the raid alongside some officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and local vigilantes on Tuesday.

Capt. Yahya Ibrahim, the acting assistant director, Army Public Relations 1 Brigade Gusau, said this in a statement.

“The raid operation was conducted in the identified terrorists’ hideout at Sabon Gari village in THE Shanga Local Government Area in Kebbi State.

“During the operation, troops neutralised one of the terrorists and extricated four kidnap victims. The troops also recovered three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 142 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and two pairs of camouflage uniforms,” he said.
