Judges spoil for a fight against Tinubu – Report
A report has claimed that some judges are unhappy with President Bola Tinubu over his appointment of Supreme Court judges.
The judges believe the appointment was heavily politicized. According to Vanguard, a senior judge told the newspaper that “never” has appointment of Supreme Court justices been so politicized.
One of such appointments was that of the son of a former chief justice, whom the President picked over his seniors.
The fellow, as it was said, did not make the shortlist. But, he surprisingly made the final lists released by the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC) last Thursday.
The critics also faulted why an acclaimed brilliant judge from the South-South was “penciled to be in reserve list.”
The report also said the critics complained about the exclusion of Justice AB Gumel from the list of appointees. Gumel, as it was said, was top on the list of candidates from the North-West zone.
