Robbers shoot couple dead
Suspected armed robbers have shot dead a couple, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Sampson Owobo, at Owerri, in the capital of Imo State. One of the victims–the husband– is said to be a retired assistant superintendent of police.
A report has that the incident happened around 8 pm on Sunday and took place beside Chisco Transport company, a few meters from the Owerri Area police command.
The robbers equally robbed a Point Of Sale agent, the report claimed.
Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the Imo police command, confirmed the incident.
“The murder of the couple is highly condemnable. The CP frowns at the killing of the couple and he has immediately ordered an investigation into their killings with the mandate to apprehend the fleeing criminals.” Okoye said.
