Jandor accuses Sanwo-Olu of forgery, files petition

Olajide Azeez Adediran, the defeated governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the March 18 poll, has alleged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu forged his GCE results submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adediran, who came a distant third in the poll, stated this in his election petition. He urged the tribunal to nullify Sanwo-Olu’s victory for not complying with the Electoral Act 2022.

Adediran, who is popularly known as Jandor, also said that the APC did not comply with the INEC timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election mandating political parties to give 21 days notice to INEC before conducting their primary election.

Adediran similarly alleged that the first runner up, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour didn’t equally comply with the Electoral law. He therefore urged the tribunal to declare votes cast for them as waste.

In the case of Gbadebo, the Labour Party’s candidate, Jandor claimed his exit from the PDP and his joining the LP didn’t conform with the law.

“In line with the provision of the Electoral Act, the candidate for the office of governor of Lagos state is not allowed to be a member of more than one political party at the time of being sponsored as a candidate for the general election, therefore his nomination is invalid,” he said.
