Man Dies Swimming In River
The Ogun State police command have said that one Sunday Ogah died in Eyinwa River, in Odogbolu.
Ogah had accompanied his friend to see one Abayomi Otunsanya in the town.
He later left for the river, without informing his friend or their host. The police said that Otunsanya later heard the news that Ogah had drowned. He decided to report the incident to the police.
“Upon the receipt of the information, the DPO Odogbolu detailed surveillance police officers, in collaboration with some local divers, to locate the corpse but their efforts proved abortive.
“Effort is still ongoing to recover the corpse and further reach out to the family, to inform them of the sad occurrence, the command said in a statement.
“The Commissioner of Police Ogun State Police Command, CP Alamutu Abiodun, while extending his deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time, assured that the Command remain committed to promoting public safety,” the command added.
