How I was raped –Mother of six

Chinyere Igwe, a mother of six, has recounted her rape ordeal. The 50-year-old victim said that her alleged rapist, one Chikodili Igboji, 29, invaded her house at night and forcefully raped her.

She also alleged that Igboji stole N20, 000 from her.�“I was afraid and started shivering.

“I managed to ask him my offence? I pleaded with him to have mercy on me that I have no husband and I have six children.

“But he pushed me, raped me and went away with my phone and my hard-earned N20,000,” she told the Magistrate’s Court at Abakaliki, in Ebonyi State.

Igboji is standing trial for the alleged act. He pleaded, “not guilty” when the charges were read to him.

Igboji, through his counsel, sought a bail from the court. But, the prosecution counsel opposed the application.

In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Chinedu Agama-Agama, agreed with the prosecution counsel, ordering his remand in prison custody.
