Armed men in military uniforms wreak havoc in Kogi

Some armed men allegedly wearing military fatigue attacked Sheria community, in the Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi state on Tuesday.

The assailants are said to have razed down residential buildings and shops.

A report says hostility between the Igburra Mozum and Bassa ethnic groups in the local government area led to the incident.

Edward Egbuka, the state commissioner of police, said operatives deployed to the troubled scene succeeded in restoring normalcy.

Williams Aya, the spokesperson for the police command, corroborated Egbuka. He said that law enforcement operatives have been drafted to the affected area.
