FIRS boss Zacch Adedeji reappears in Nigeria after Dubai’s COP 28 engagement
Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), returned to Nigeria after his participation at the ongoing United Nations Climate Change Conference 28, holding in Dubai, UAE.
While at the conference, President Bola Tinubu announced that Adedeji would chair the Nigerian Carbon Market Activation Plan. The plan, Tinubu said, shows Nigeria’s readiness to attract carbon market investments.
But, on Monday, Adedeji was at his office to receive the president and management of the Chartered Institute Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
According to the FIRS, the meeting between the two bodies aimed at strengthening their relationship, leverage data and technology in tax payment processes, ensure professional standards and encourage best practices in the profession.
