Fayose gloats over terrorist attacks, declares presidential bid

Peter Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti standing trial for multi-billion corruption, has gloated over the unabating insecurity in the country.

This is also as he declared his bid for the presidency in 2023.

“May I also state clearly that I will be seeking the ticket of the PDP to contest the next presidential election,” he said in a statement in Lagos.

Fayose’s declaring for the presidency comes after his son tweeted he should shun the race if he didn’t have a plan to tackle the insecurity challenge in the country.

On insecurity, Fayose who is an ardent critic of the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari-led government, said he had forewarned the nation.

“My voice was the loudest in 2015 against the inherent dangers of a Buhari’s Presidency.

“No one listened. Rather, I was attacked and insulted.

“Today, Water dan pass Gari” as I am daily vindicated.

“Buhari’s  sponsors and those who insulted me then should enjoy this while it lasts. Hopefully, we have all learnt our lessons about this FAKE CHANGE,” he said.

TheCornet reports that Fayose’s colleagues in the PDP, who have shown similar interest, are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Governor Nyesome Wike (Rivers state); Governor Bala Mohammed ( Bauchi); Governor Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto State), former governors Peter Obi and Bukola Saraki of Anambra and Kwara states respectively.
