Police downplay officer’s death in Gbenga Daniel’s house
Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson for the Ogun State police command, has downplayed the death of a police officer attached to former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel.
Premium Times had reported the death of police sergeant Adeleke Ogunsola inside Daniel’s compound last Saturday.
The police officer was reportedly trying to open the gate to Daniel’s Sagamu mansion when his driver unknowingly pinned him to the wall.
Ogunsola was rushed to the hospital but eventually succumbed to his injury.
When the newspaper sought his comment, Oyeyemi said it was an accident that “can happen to anybody.”
“We don’t know the circumstances that led to him opening the gate.
We were not with him on duty,” Oyeyemi continued.
“It might be that the gate is of two arms, somebody will be opening the first arm, another person opens the other. It’s possible,” he said
