Ekiti woman held for assault
The Ekiti State Police Command, on Thursday, arraigned Funmilayo Aduloju (40), before an Ado Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for violently biting a lady and causing her an injury.
The prosecution told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 12 around 8.30p.m at the Ekute area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
“The defendant assaulted one Adetutu Abegunde by biting her with teeth on her left eye while fighting, which inflicted serious injury on her.
“The offence contravened Section 185 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021,” the prosecution said.
Okunade urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her.
Opeyemi Esan, the defendant’s counsel, urged the court to grant her bail.
