Kwara man beheads own brother in ritual killing
A man from Kwara State, North-Central Nigeria, has beheaded his younger brother in his get-rich-quick bid.
Ismail Saliu, 25, was said to have conspired with an herbalist to gruesomely murder his 14-year-old brother Azeez Saliu.
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in a statement, said it has arrested the suspect, the herbalist Ahmed Nkwe, 44, and one Saliu Ahmed, 30.
The incident happened in Kosubosu, in Baruten LGA of the state.
Babawale Afolabi, Kwara NSCDC spokesperson, said curious neighbours alerted the paramilitary organisation of some suspicious movements. The information led to the arrest of the suspects.
“Investigation by the command disclosed that the suspects had lured the victim to a farm where he was allegedly gruesomely murdered by his own blood brother, lsmail Saliu,” said Afolabi.
He added that the suspects were apprehended while returning from the farm, where they murdered the deceased.
The statement added that the prime suspect, Saliu had confessed to the crime.
