EFCC to arraign ‘Bobrisky’

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has said that it would soon arraign controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC, stated this on Thursday.

“Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command.

“We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of nara notes, and currency mutilation, among others.

“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon,” Oyewale said.

Okuneye is being probed for abusing the Nigerian currency, Naira.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned that intentional mutilation, stamping or spraying of the naira note is a punishable offence under its enabling law.

The spraying of banknotes at social events in Nigeria, by both the high and low in society, has become a phenomenon.
