Debt-tainted Segun Adewale wins Lagos PDP ticket
Debt-tainted Segun Adewale, the CEO of Aeroland Travels Ltd., has emerged the Lagos West senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Adewale defeated Yomi Ogungbe at the primary election, held at the Stadplus Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
TheCornet reports that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), recently, alleged Adewale owed Polaris Bank N1.8 billion.
Based on the alleged debt, AMCON took possession of the nine properties belonging to the politician. The properties are situate at Plot 4 & 4B Block 66 Magodo Scheme, Lagos State; Plot 9, Block 44c, Adetoro Adelaja Street, Magodo Lagos; No. 4C Maye Ogundana Street, Magodo Lagos;
Others are No. 2A John Olugbo Street, Ikeja, Lagos; No. 2 Fadeyi Street, off Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos, and No. 14 Jerry Iriabe Street, off Bashorun Okunsanya, off Admiralty Road, Lekki Penisula among others
But, Adewale in his reaction said the AMCON had refused him access to his N1.77 billion deposit with the bank, since 2015.
