Buhari ex-minister Sadiya in EFCC’s net over alleged multi-billion naira fraud

Sadiya Umar-Farouq, former minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, has eventually submitted herself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). She is currently at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
Sadiya is being probed over her handling of N37,170,855,753.44 of public fund. She is said tot have laundered the money through a contractor, James Okwete.
She had failed to appear before the anti-graft commission when the agency invited her previously.
Sadiya announced her arrival at the EFCC via a post on her official X account.
“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” she wrote.
