BBN’s Tacha tackles Davido over comment about Phyna

Reality television star and entrepreneur Tacha has called out Afrobeats singer, Davido, over his condescending comment about her friend, Phyna.

Tacha and Phyna were housemates in different episodes of popular reality show, Big Brother Naija.

TheCornet reports that Phyna, in a post she made on micro-blogging site X, queried why Davido hated her, albeit she congratulated him on the birth of his twins.

Responding to Phyna, Davido said, “Thank you love ❤ ️ but I actually don’t know who you are .. and it was an honest mistake .. no vex .”

On her part, Tacha believed the comment was degrading and she decided to identify with her friend, Phyna.

“I only lifted up a fellow woman and a friend,” she said in a video addressing Davido.

Tacha, also, accused Davido of taking her support for Phyna to mean a shade against him.

Davido, she said, responded by liking scornful tweets others had made about her.

 

Tacha said Davido could have stopped at giving an apology, without derogating Phyna.

She stated that Davido should have taken a cue from stand-up comedy act, Ayo Makun, who after making a joke about Davido’s act of having love children by different women apologized to the “Unavailable” star.

Tacha’s participation in the BBNaija Pepper Dem episode had ended in her disqualification.

The show hosts took the decision after she and another housemate, Mercy Eke, had a physical fight. Both women had, at the time, farmed considerable liking from the audience. Eke, who earned herself two strikes, would go on to win the prize money.

The BBN handlers and show host, MultiChoice denounced the violence at the time.

“We view incidents such as occurred with Tacha and Mercy in a very serious light and will continue to take necessary action against housemates who break the strict rules of Big Brother,” an excerpt from their statement read.
