Bayelsa: Diri defeats Timipre Sylva

Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State, has won his reelection, defeating All Progressives Congress candidate, Timipre Sylva.

Prof Faruq Kuta, returning officer for the election, declared that Diri polled 175,196 to defeat Sylva, who garnered 110,108 votes. The Labour Party polled 905 votes to come a distant third.
