Kidnappers reduce N50m ransom to N3m, free victim

Kidnappers who took captive Chris Oghojafor,  an undergraduate of the Delta State University, Abraka, have released him after collecting N3million ransom.

TheCornet learned the kidnappers demanded N50million initially from their victim’s family, but later reduced it during negotiation.

The final year student of the Department of Chemistry was abducted in Ugelli, Delta state, last Friday.

His father, John Oghojafor, who is a senior legislative aide to the Deputy Senate President, confirmed his son’s release in a short message he sent to a news daily.

“My son, Chris Oghojafor, who was kidnapped in Abraka by Fulani herdsmen since Friday evening, has just been released. Glory be to God,” the text stated.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said he was not aware of the development.
