Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin accused of jewelry theft at Lagos Island Market (Video)

A video has surfaced on social media showing a famous Yoruba actor Lizzy Anjorin in a rowdy scene at Tom Jones Street on the Lagos Island.

A trader was said to have accused the actor of procuring gold jewelry, using a fake bank transfer.

In the video, originally posted by internet blogger Gistlover, Anjorin could be seen wearing a green Ankara outfit with a nose mask on her face.

A woman in the background of the video could be heard calling her a “thief” while two traders advised the actor to seek refuge in a shop.

During the melee, Anjorin held her phone to her ear, apparently making a telephone call to someone.

TheCornet, however, could not ascertain the reason for the rowdy scene.

But explaining the scenario in a video subsequently, Anjorin denied stealing any gold jewelry or carrying out a fake bank transfer of ₦90,000 (Ninety Thousand Naira).

She accused her arch enemy, a fellow Yoruba actress, who she derogatorily calls ‘Shepeteri’ of setting her up.

Based on her explanation, Anjorin said that a male trader accosted her at the market, saying that a previous payment from her for fabric accessories was unsuccessful.

“While he made the claim and I inquired to know the date the transaction was done, he instead started calling others to me,” Anjorin said.

Anjorin said she believed that the scenario was orchestrated by her so-called rival to embarrass her.

The said rival, Anjorin said, was behind the publishing of the video on the blog and had also commented.

Our checks showed that another Yoruba actor, Iyabo Ojo, was the commenter Anjorin was referring to in her video.

Both rivals have repeatedly made videos attacking each other but couched in innuendos.
