Aregbesola, Amaechi appointed into Tinubu campaign team

Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior, and the former minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi are included in the 422-man All Progressives Congress’ presidential campaign council.

The duo’s inclusion surprised watchers who perceived them not friendly of the presidential flag bearer Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Argebesola’s feud with his successor, Governor Gboyega Isiaka is seen as the reason the latter lost his return bid. Regarding Amaechi, he had openly implied Tinubu bribed his way to winning the party’s ticket. Missing in the list is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has been estranged from Tinubu, his known political enabler since losing the presidential ticket to him.

According to James Faleke, the secretary of the campaign council, those ‘nominated are to pick their appointment letters on Monday, at the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council’.
