Angry APC youths protest against Adamu at party secretariat

Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Thursday faced a protest by some aggrieved members at the party secretariat.

Some youths from Kogi state are said to have stormed the party office, in Abuja, to protest alleged substitution of their candidate. They claimed the candidate won the ticket for a house of representatives’ seat, which the party withdrew from him and handed to another person.

Daily Trust says that the protesters threatened that Adamu, who at the time was attending a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee, would not leave the secretariat.

Policemen reportedly locked the gates against the demonstrators, after which they began to harass journalists.

The journalists were asked to identify themselves, before they were pushed out of the secretariat, the report stated.
