Why I visited Awujale, other Yoruba monarchs – Tinubu
Frontline presidential aspirant Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said he decided to visit some Yoruba monarchs to “seek their royal counsel”.
Tinubu recently declared his interest for the 2023 presidential election.
He, on Saturday, visited the Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona; the Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; and the Olu of Ilaro.
In a tweet he shared, Tinubu said he sought counsels and prayers, and consulted with the monarchs “on certain matters.”
“Our traditional institutions are fundamental to our culture and remain as important as ever in our quest for greater unity, cohesion and social development.
“I commended the Royal Majesties for their fatherly contributions to sustaining peace and stability in the country.”
