Afe Babalola’s proposal will create anarchy – Uzodima

Governor Hope Uzodimma has responded to Chief Are Babalola’s suggestion that elections should not hold in 2023.

Babalola, a senior lawyer and proprietor of the Afe Babalola University, Ekiti, said rather an Interim National Government should be constituted and made to produce a “new-look peoples’ constitution, which should provide for part-time legislators and non-executive president”

Speaking at the state house on Tuesday, Governor Uzodima said: “By May 29, if there is no elected government, our constitution has not provided for an interregnum.

“There shouldn’t be a gap, otherwise, you are creating room for anarchy.”
