Abba Kyari ‘arrested’
Abba Kyari, a suspended police officer who was previously declared wanted by Nigeria’s anti-drug agency, has been arrested.
According to Punch, the police arrested Kyari and four others over their links with a transnational drug cartel.
Kyari, a decorated police officer, fell into infamy following FBI’s revelation on his affinity with international fraudster Ramon Abbas. Abbas has since been in prison in the US, awaiting his sentencing in June.
For Kyari, the Nigeria Police Force suspended him and commissioned an investigation.
Last week, the Police Service Commission, PSC, issued a directive to the police heirarchy that investigation into Kyari’s involvement must be done in two weeks.
Kyari’s woes was compounded by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s allegation that he belong to a drug cartel.
