Three years after praising Tinubu, Dele Momodu attacks him

Dele Momodu, a celebrity journalist and politician, took a jab at the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu. Momodu’s criticism of Tinubu is a volte-face, coming three years after he praised him in a flattering op-ed.

Momodu had said then that Tinubu would make a good president and that he had a knack for spotting talents.

However, Momodu, in his latest statement, said “Tinubu has declined” but desperately seeks the presidency.

“Tinubu has declined in the last few years …none of the people around him could tell him the truth for pecuniary reasons.

“…After he has lost most of his formidable foot soldiers, and now relying on outsiders to activate and actualize his lifelong ambition for him”, said Momodu, who is the director of strategic communication of the Abubakar Atiku campaign.

Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the Tinubu campaign, provoked Momodu’s broadside. Keyamo had asked Momodu to prove his claim that Tinubu copied late MKO Abiola’s campaign manifesto of 1993.

Without providing the evidence of his claim, Momodu called Keyamo a “political neophyte” who still “has a lot to learn while trying hard to be a lap-dog.”

“He (Keyamo) should be reminded that he is still a Minister of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paid at tax-payer’s expense. He should learn to moderate his undue exuberance,” Momodu said.
