Why Tinubu suspended Musa Nuhu from NCAA – Presidency

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, replaced Musa Nuhu with Chris Najomo as director-general of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). Najomo was appointed in acting capacity.

Explaining the rationale for Nuhu’s suspension by the President, Ajuri Ngalale, presidential media adviser, said the decision would allow the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigate his activities in office.

He said, “Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu has been suspended from office to enable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct an unfettered investigation into the activities of the suspended director-general and other senior officials in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.

“Chris Najomo assumes office as the Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority immediately.”

Ngelale also said President Tinubu had directed Festus Keyamo, minister of aviation and aerospace development, to recruit a substantive vice-chancellor and other principal officers for the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU).

The president said he is confident that the new leadership across the critical sector will uphold the safety, convenience, and comfort of the Nigerian people as primary in their administrative activities.
