JAMB reveals fate of direct entry student from May 26
Students seeking to university admission in 2023 would have to purchase e-PIN on or before May 26. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the sale of the special pin would close on the said date.
Equally, the registration of candidates possessing the e-PIN will end on May 30, the exam body stated.
Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, said the 2023 direct entry registration was extended to allow desiring candidates to register.
”All genuine aspiring candidates who are yet to register for the exercise are urged to register as the board would not entertain any further extension,” he said.
He also said the pin has permanently closed the loopholes that might be exploited.
”It is, therefore, not at all surprising to witness the surge in the number of candidates in one or two of our offices. The new regime has exposed the quantum of cases of falsifications and other infractions in the DE value chain,“ he said.
On the modalities, the spokesperson explained that candidates would take turns to register, in order to forestall any incidence of overcrowding.
The JAMB official said the board was aware of the unwholesome actions of some tutorial centres and some desperate parents, conniving with some A-level tutorial centres to perpetrate acts inimical to the education sector and national interests.
