Timi Dakolo queries soldier for stripping camouflage wearer

A Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has queried the action of a soldier seen in a video stripping a camouflage wearer on a busy street.

The video shared by an Instagram celebrity Tunde Ednut shows the gun-carrying soldier holding one end of the camouflage trousers and the wearer equally clutching at the other part.

The wearer, at the same time, was cutting the trousers with a knife believed to belong to the soldier.

In his reaction to the video, Dakolo said, “May be I am a novice o, but which part of the constitution said nobody can wear a camouflage.”

Nigerian soldiers, characteristically, repulse a civilian wearing of a military camouflage and often react to it with punishing the wearer.

TheCornet can authoritatively states that the offence of wrongful wearing of armed forces uniform or accoutrements is punishable under Section 110 of the Criminal Code Act of Nigeria.
