Secondus to Wike: Nobody can impose presidential candidate on Rivers

Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, says that electorate in Rivers State would vote the party’s presidential candidate regardless of anyone pressuring them to do otherwise.

Secondus was reacting to the comment by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike that he would inform the electorate about whom to vote in the presidential election.

Wike, who is also a member of the PDP, is disgruntled over the choice of the incumbent PDP’s national chairman Iyorchia Ayu.

Wike wants Ayu replaced with a southerner, given that he (Ayu) is a northern as the party’s presidential candidate Abubakar Atiku.

Other governors aligned with Wike are Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo); Samuel Ortom (Benue); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia).

Others are a former national vice chairman (South) of the party, Chief Olabode George; former governors Donald Duke, Jonah Jang, Ayo Fayose, Olusegun Mimiko among others.
