Sanwo-Olu gifts LASU’s top graduate N10m

Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has gifted Miss Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, who graduated from the state-owned Lagos State University (LASU), with a cumulative CGPA of 5.0, the sum of Ten Million Naira (N10, 000, 000).

The governor presented the 23-year-old genius with the cash award at the Government House, Alausa, in the presence of her parents Ibrahim Yusuf and Hajia Halimah.

In his message posted on his official Twitter timeline, Governor Sanwo-Olu said that he equally discussed with Aminat’s parents “her background and the crucial role her disciplined parents played in her personal development.”

He added, “She shared how her parents’ unwavering commitment to her and her siblings’ education shaped her path to success”, and, how “they instilled the value of aiming high and provided everything they needed.”

“I encouraged Aminat to use her voice as a champion for vulnerable communities and to promote initiatives tailored to their needs. Together, we can create opportunities for those who need it most, “ the governor stated.

Aminat, the daughter of a journalist, broke the 40 years record by emerging the Best Graduating Student from the Faculty of Law, LASU.

The university management had earlier given her N500,000 at a prize presentation ceremony. Coming close to Aminat is Lopez Feyisayo Divine, who emerged the best graduating student from the Department of Physiology with the cumulative CGPA of 4.91.
